Catfish

The Thad Cochran National Warmwater Aquaculture Center is home to the USDA-NIFA Southern Regional Aquaculture Center. The mission of the Center is to support aquaculture research, development, demonstration, and education to enhance viable and profitable U.S. aquaculture production to benefit consumers, producers, service industries, and the American economy. Projects that are developed and funded are 

based on industry needs and are designed to directly impact commercial aquaculture development in the southern region and the nation. Catfish research includes scientists in the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES), USDA Agricultural Research Service, and the MSU College of Veterinary Medicine.
