B.F. Smith Building

B.F. Smith Building

The B.F. Smith building was completed in late 1996 under the leadership of then Superintendent, Walter Porter. It serves as the primary administrative building and holds the office of the Station Head, the Delta Region Extension Director’s office, their support staffs, and additional research offices and laboratories. The building also is home to a 100-seat auditorium and two additional conference rooms where the majority of the distance education teleconference classes are held. The building was dedicated to Mr. B.F. Smith, Executive Vice President of Delta Council, upon his retirement after 37 years of service to the Mississippi Delta.
